We hope you all had a fantastic weekend full of family fun! We have a few things to let you know about as we wrap up regular play and get ready for Spring Fling next week. Speaking of Spring Fling, we will have an email out to you shortly with all the information you need to participate.
1) Locker Cleanout
A friendly reminder to please clear out your lockers and remove the lock after your last curling session this season.
2) Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant Results
Season closing is a time to acknowledge contributions to our successful season. In 2021 we received a $15,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. In 2020/21, OTF supported Ontario’s economic recovery by helping non-profit organizations rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
We used the funding to hire The Social Factory marketing consultant and to upgrade our POS and bookkeeping software (the fancy tap system Heather uses at the bar:). Alyssa from The Social Factory helped us create and implement a new marketing strategy, including a social media calendar and an exciting new website design .......to be revealed soon ! The funding helped us increase our advertising activities ahead of the 2021-2022 season. For example we:
bought radio advertising
advertised at the Oxford Drive-in
bought more of our successful lawn signs
created a promotional video
One of the major outcomes of our increased marketing efforts was a sold out Learn 2 Curl program -doubling the number of participants from previous years!
Thank you to the marketing committee that participated in the strategy and helped maximize the use of the Resilient Communities Fund grant.
And thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their ongoing investment in community projects and partnerships that build healthy and vibrant communities and strengthen the impact of Ontario's non-profit sector.
