WCC IS A ROCKING! EVENTS, CHAMPIONSHIPS, AND AN EXTENDED SEASON!

Our Tuesday Rookies Rock leagues is out curling for Curling Day in Canada! They are submitting their scores to Canada’s Big Game to enter the WCC in a chance to win $5000 for the Centre. Hurry hard, Rookies!
Three things to let you know about this week:
1) Events at the Centre
Now that we are back open and curling again (yipeeeeee!) we wanted to let you know about some upcoming events coming up at the Centre. Its been almost two years since we’ve had anything at the centre outside of league play, and we can’t wait to feel that bonspiel energy again! And yes, we will be making sure we continue to follow all Covid-19 safety measures and protocols as we start to host events again!
Upcoming events include-
Feb. 19- Curl for Safety- Organized by Mazur Safety of Sheet B fame, the Curl for Safety bonspiel supports My Safe Work, an organization whose mission is to prevent people from getting killed, injured, and harassed on the job. Come on out for a day of fun and freaking delicious food! Rumor has it that Team Duncan will also be making an appearance! More info available here.
Feb. 26- Chuck Phelps Memorial Bonspiel- In memory of our dear friend Chuck, the Chuck Phelps is always a good time. Curling, socializing, boat races; they all make for a day that is one for the books! Contact Keith Eppenberger today if you are interested in signing up or making a donation to the prize table!
March 19- MS Bonspiel- Have you ever met Darlene and Bruce Wood? If yes, you will just know how awesome of a bonspiel these two can organize! Full of minute to win it games, on and off ice shenanigans, this is usually the bonspiel of the year. Do not miss out on your opportunity to get your name engraved on the coveted MS Bonspiel trophy! Contact Darlene Wood today if you are interested in playing and/or donating to the day! All proceeds go to the MS Society.
2) Extended Season- End of April Closing
We are happy to share that we are going to be extending our season one month to make up for our lost January. Usually we close up shop at the end of March/early April but this year we will be going through to the end of April. Our last week will be for our Spring Fling, which this year, will be the biggest and best one yet! More details to come soon about Spring Fling, but for now pencil it in to your calendars for the week of April 24.
3) Congrats Team Duncan!!!!
If you’ve been tuning in to TSN at all this week, or following our Facebook or Instagram, you will know that Woodstock was on the national stage thanks to Team Duncan and their amazing week at the Scotties. Although just shy of qualifying for the playoffs, these ladies made us all proud, curling like the bosses they are, having tonnes of fun while doing it (mmmm pickles... amirite ladies? :)) Next time you see Rachelle out at the Centre, be sure to give her an air high five!
