ACTION REQUIRED: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW TO COME CURLING NEXT WEEK!
Happy Friday Curlers!!
I hope everyone is geared up and ready to curl next week! We are very excited to return to the Centre and get back on the ice!
As mentioned previously, we have a requirement to verify everyone’s vaccination record through the new Verify Ontario application. We are looking to simplify this by having you upload your proof of vaccination QR code using Check’n.
You will receive an email from Check’n with the subject line “Covid Screening from the Woodstock Curling Centre.” The link provided will expire within 24 hours upon receipt. If this occurs please email curl@woodstockcurling.com and we will send you another link.
Here are steps you can follow to upload your vaccination QR code (not your Curl ON QR code). This must be completed before you can return to the curling centre next week.
select “Start Screening” within the email
answer the questions
BE SURE TO SELECT “Verify Proof”
choose Scan QR code or Gallery to load your QR code
Get either your printed vaccine QR code or QR code saved to your phone/tablet ready
For printed QR codes, select scan QR code and use your device’s camera to take a photo of your QR code. It will confirm if the code has been scanned successfully.
For digital QR codes saved to your device, take a screen shot of your QR code, edit the photo in your photo gallery to only include your QR code and hit save. Select your edited QR code image. It will confirm if you have loaded it successfully.
enter your date of birth
select the year on the top left of the calendar and scroll to your
find your month and select your date
select “set” on the bottom right of the calendar
select “complete”
select “Submit”
Once you’ve worked through the steps above, we have your proof of vaccination for the season. We know this is a long process. We will have volunteers available your first night back should you run into any issues. For those wondering, the Check’N app does not store any personal information or data for privacy reasons.
Vaccination verification is one layer of safety we have at the Centre. Other layers include masking whenever possible: we are not mandating mask wearing on the ice, but if you want to, please feel free to do so. We are also encouraging people to maintain physical distancing by using the circles on the ice and only having only one sweeper. We were already following capacity regulations pre lockdown.
We continue to use the Curl ON app for screening and check in purposes. Please use the QR code you received before the break everytime you come to the Centre. This acts as you answering yes to all of our screening questions posted just above the check in tablet at the front door, as well as lets us know who was in the Centre for contact tracing purposes.
For those wondering, we will be extending our season to the end of April to make up for our lost month of January! More details on this to come.
Thank you all for your continuing support and helping us make sure the curling centre is as safe as it can possibly be!
As always, if you have questions about any of the above, please let us know.
