COVID-19 UPDATE PLEASE READ
Good Evening Members,
We are reaching out to let everyone know that as of this evening we have confirmation of a positive COVID-19 case from a member at the Centre. We have had a few additional Thursday league members receive positive rapid test results and are still awaiting PCR test results for confirmation.
As per our protocols, we wanted to inform all members as there are many who curl in multiple leagues.
All close contact individuals have been informed and we are suggesting that if you curled in any league during the week of December 20th that you monitor your symptoms closely and isolate when necessary.
As defined by the Southwest Region Health Board, a close contact is somebody with whom you had a prolonged exposure (for more than a few minutes) in close proximity (within 2 meters) in the 48 hours prior to you developing symptoms or getting tested for COVID-19 (whichever comes first).
As per the Provincial and Southwest Region health board requirements, any symptomatic individuals should isolate for a minimum of 5 days from the onset of symptoms. As of today, all publicly funded PCR tests are for vulnerable individuals only and members of the public with mild symptoms are asked not to seek testing.
As this continues to be a fluid situation, your board of directors has scheduled a meeting to determine next steps and we will follow up shortly with further instructions on our expected return to play timeline.
Should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to the Centre by emailing
curl@woodstockcurling.com.
We hope you have enjoyed your holiday season so far and that you have remained safe and healthy as we ring in the new year.
Take care and stay safe,
Your WCC Board of Directors
