WEEK 1 CHECK IN: A FEW CHANGES TO PROTOCOLS AND SOME VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Good Sunday evening, Curlers,
We want to thank you all for making our first week back on the ice and at the Centre such a success. Having our curling routine back makes things feel a little more normal, and it sure does feel good! We can’t thank you enough for helping make the centre a fun and safe place to be!
1) Learn to Curl and Youth Volunteers Needed for Sundays
Our Youth Curling program had its first session this Sunday from 3:00-5:00. We are looking for some more volunteers to help run the youth curling program. For more information about how you can help inspire the next generation of curlers, contact our Youth Curling Coordinator, Shawn Watt at 519-533-8025 or send him an email.
We also have a thriving Learn to Curl program happening Sunday mornings. We need a few more instructors to help out. Join the rotation of Sunday morning instructors by emailing Learn to Curl Coordinator Carlos Gregorio.
2) Updates to Covid-19 Return to Play Playbook
This past week we listened closely to what you had to say about the safety measures that we have put in place. We have made some slight adjustments to our Covid protocols to make sure we are balancing the safety of everyone who comes in the Centre with making sure everyone has a good, fun, and relaxing experience. We have updated our Playbook to reflect these changes. The most up-to-date version of the Playbook is available here. The changes include:
1) We have removed the restriction of coming to the Centre ready to play with your curling attire on. If you want to change in the locker rooms, please feel free to do so.
2) Lockers will remain available for daily use.
3) Sweeping behind the t-line has been “reinstated”.
4) Tables in the lounge have been reconfigured to maximize post-game socialization while remaining as physically distant as possible. We ask that tables be kept clear for teams coming off the ice.
5) Please keep outdoor footwear off until you get ready to leave. You can keep your outdoor shoes downstairs until you are ready to exit through the back. Help us keep our ice clean and limit the number of picked rocks this season!
The Board welcomes comments and feedback on the safety measures and protocols that we have put in place. Please feel free to ask any questions and/or share any feedback to curl@woodstockcurling.com
