Dear Curlers ,
 
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying safe.
 
As we push closer to the month of July it is probably difficult for most to have curling top of mind. We would like everyone to know that we have not stopped thinking about curling and are looking forward to opening our doors this fall! Since last fall when we had decided not to open we have been busy planning the 21/22 season and making significant changes to the Centre. I must tell you the things that are being done look awesome and I know when everyone returns you will feel the same way.

A refresh to the west wall on the ice is but one project that has happened over the past year. Jim Visser,  Joe Helm and their group of passionate volunteers really stepped up and brought this project to fruition. Check out the amazing transformation!







The last 12 months plus have definitely been challenging to say the least and it seems there is now light at the end of the tunnel. With new cases decreasing and vaccinations increasing daily it makes me even more confident that we all will be enjoying the sport we all have come to love.

I want to personally thank the Social Media Committee, Grant Writing Committee, Maintenance Committee and all of the volunteers who have been helping out with the refresh of our facility .
 
Finally a big shout out to the Board of Directors ( Lisa Wells, Alison Pegg, Danielle Walker, Keith Eppenberger, Judy Farlow, Carlos Gregorio, Art Jones, and Josh Pegg) who without we wouldn’t be where we are today. We are positioned for great things now and for the future.
 
As I have stated in the past we are always looking for additional Board members as well as volunteers. I know some are probably tired of me saying this but it’s true “Many hands make light work “. If you would like to be part of these very exciting times for The Curling Centre as well as The City of Woodstock and make a difference feel free to reach out to any one of the Board members if you are interested.
