Dear Curlers,
 
I would just like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to everyone and let you know how excited I am to be your President of the Woodstock Curling Centre. It is truly a honour and a privilege. My wife Tammy and I started curling approximately 8 years ago and we have never looked back. We just love it and consider everyone at the Centre as part of our extended family.
 
This year has been a challenging one to say the least . Covid 19 has affected everyone in one way or another. The decision to not reopen this season was a very difficult one but we are confident we made the right choice as it was the responsible thing to do during these times we are in. The health and safety of our curlers and staff is our number one priority .
 
I have asked Lisa Wells to be our Covid consultant lead on the Board as she has been through all of the setup policies and procedures at her place of work. Lisa is very up-to-date and in tune with the day-to-day Covid happenings. She will be a great asset for us in ensuring we are being responsible and doing the right thing as we move forward.
 
Now we begin setting ourselves up for success for the 21/22 season. Rest assured we will all get through this and will be curling again soon. The Woodstock Curling Centre has seen its ups and downs but for those that have been around for awhile you know you really can’t keep us down. Our facility is one of resilience.
 
In the months to come our focus and intent will be to strategize and plan events for our members in a safe and healthy way, so please stay tuned. In order to ensure the longevity of our Centre it is imperative that we create events and book rentals.
 
To close I would like to thank the board and staff for all they have done and continue to do. This is such a great team to work with,  a team full of energy and passion with one goal: to do everything possible for the betterment of the Centre and have it be successful. On that note, if I had one ask of our membership it would be to consider and entertain the thought of becoming an active board member and/or volunteer. “Many hands make light work”.
