WCC 2020/2021 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear WCC Curlers,
Your Board of Directors has been working very hard over the last 4 months, preparing for all potential scenarios and partnering with our SWPH unit and CurlON to ensure whatever decision was made, was done so in the best interest of the Woodstock Curling Centre and its members.
Due to the overall mitigating factors the Board of Directors has made the very difficult decision to remain
closed for the 2020/2021 season.
This decision weighs very heavily on the Board but we feel it is our obligation to ensure the financial stability of the Centre is maintained.
In addition to the financial implications, there is also the unpredictability of our current state of operation. While we are currently able to offer multiple league play, our Southwest Public Health unit can restrict this at anytime. Moreover, should our capacity numbers decrease further from 25, we will struggle to provide a proper schedule to curl and enjoy any physically distanced social time.
Regardless of this decision, the Board of Directors has been preparing mitigation strategies to try to reduce the loss as much as possible. These strategies include, fundraising events, our charitable donation program, and facility rental opportunities. We will spend the year focusing on future planning and ways we can continue to grow and ensure curling is available to our community for years to come.
For any inquires regarding our
refund policy, questions, concerns or comments, please contact us at curl@woodstockcurling.com.
You will find a copy of the October 15, 2020 Woodstock Curling Centre Annual General Meeting minutes
here for your review.
We thank you for your continued commitment and support.
Stay safe, stay healthy and good curling!
Sincerely,
Your WCC Board of Directors
