COVID-19 UPDATES- WCC REMAINS OPEN
Good evening Curlers,
In light of the week’s events and with cancellations happening all over, we wanted to send an update about the status of our curling centre.
Woodstock Curling Centre will remain open and all leagues will be available. That said, we are monitoring the situation closely and will let you know if things change.
We would like to reiterate the advice of authorities:
1) Wash hands often.
2) No more pre/post game handshakes. Waves and elbow bumps are encouraged.
3) The rocks are being wiped down with sanitation products before each game.
4) If you are sick, please stay home.
5) If you have recently travelled, please do not come out to curl. Practice self-isolation and self-monitoring of symptoms for the recommended 14 days.
6) You are not obligated to come and curl if you are not comfortable. We want everyone to feel comfortable in this unexpected situation. If you aren’t able to come and curl, let your skip and/or your convenor know.
Some events at the Centre have been postponed. They include:
1) Woodstock Collegiate Institute Learn to Curl
2) CurlON Senior Mixed Qualifier
With the cancellation of the Senior Mixed Qualifier, leagues can continue as previously scheduled. If your league was effected by the Senior Mixed event, your convenor will be in touch with you about curling this coming week.
Events like the MS Bonspiel taking place March 14, City of Woodstock March Break Curling Camp happening March 16-20, and the Spring Fling taking place the week of March 30
th, are still running at this time. These events are all gatherings of less than 250 people which is below the recommendations outlined by the province.
Thank you everyone! If anyone has any questions, please let us know at curl@woodstockcurling.com.
Good curling!
Your WCC Board of Directors
