THIS WEEK AT WCC: CURL ON WEEKLY 50/50, SIGN UP FOR CURL FOR SAFETY SPIEL, SPRING FLING VOLUNTEERS
Good Monday Morning, Curlers,
Here we are into February! According to most reports, Wiarton Willie and his colleagues didn’t see their shadows yesterday, so we should be welcoming an early spring *fingers crossed*. If today’s temperatures are any evidence if this, I would say we are well on our way! We have a couple of things to share with you this week:
1) Curl ON Online Weekly 50/50
CurlON is having a weekly 50/50 in support of youth programming at participating curling centres/clubs. You can buy tickets online weekly for a chance to win 50% of the total weekly sales from across the province!
Tickets are 7 for $10 or 20 for $20. Tickets are sold Monday-Sunday with the draws happening Monday morning of each week.
All of the proceeds raised through this initiative will be distributed directly back to participating curling centres/clubs. This means that the net proceeds of ticket sales purchased by members, friends, and family of the Woodstock Curling Centre will come directly back to us! In order to make sure this happens, please select the Woodstock Curling Centre when purchasing your tickets.
This initiative is open to anyone, so feel free to share with friends and family! You must be 18 years or older to purchase.
You can buy your tickets by selecting this link:

2) Curl for Safety Charity Bonspiel: February 22- Curling Day in Canada
Celebrate Curling Day in Canada with a full day of Curling. All proceeds raised will go directly towards Threads of Life, an organization that supports families that have been affected by workplace tragedies. $300 a team or $75 an individual gets you a full day of curling plus catered lunch and dinner. We have it on good authority that the food will be fantastic.

3) Spring Fling is just around the corner- Volunteers Needed
Spring Fling will be happening March 30-April 3 so mark your calendars! Now that we are into February it is time to start planning our closing week-long bonspiel. Spring Fling is a great way to celebrate the curling season and go out with a bang all while raising a few dollars for the Centre. We are looking for people to help make it the best Spring Fling yet.
What does volunteering for the Spring Fling Committee look like?
We will have our first planning meeting the week after Family Day weekend and will have 1-2 other meetings leading up to the event. We are looking for people to help with one of the following activities:
- set up the schedule for the week’s activities
- find sponsorships and door prizes
- organize meals
- plan some surprises
If you are able to volunteer, please get in touch with Alison or Josh Pegg at alison.wetheral@gmail.com or jpegg153@gmail.com.
Good Curling Everyone!
