Happy Friday, Curlers, 

We have a few exciting things to share with you this week. 

1) Team Balsdon and Team Kean represent Woodstock at Ontario Scotties and Ontario Tankard 

Team Balsdon (Megan Baldson, Lynn Kreviazuk, Rachelle Strybosch and Tess Bobbie) and  Team Kean (Mark Kean, Charlie Richard, Tyler Twining, DJ Ronaldson) are off to Cornwall next week (Jan 27-Feb 2) to play for a chance to represent Ontario on the Canadian national curling stage. 

If you are able to join the Woodstock cheering squad in person, tickets for the week’s events are available here. Check the round robin schedule here. 

If you can’t trek to Cornwall next week, you can follow the action online. Both Team Baldson and Team Kean will be featured on Title Sports Live, a free streaming service on: 

Team Baldson, Wednesday 7:45 p.m. Balsdon vs. Inglis
Team Kean, Friday 12:15 p.m. Kean vs. Camm

2) Winter L2C 

Do you know someone that is interested on getting out on the ice? There is still a chance! Our Winter Learn to Curl program is starting Wednesday, February 4^th.  For just $95+ tax you get 7 weeks of on-ice instruction, game play, you name it! It is the best way to learn the game! 3) Spare Initiative 

If you’ve been out to the centre this week, you will have heard all about our new spare initiative. With the new year upon us we are getting geared up for our second half of the curling season which happens to be a high season for vacation and travel. 
 
In addition, as part of our growth strategy, the Board is looking to integrate our curlers more successfully, ensuring everyone has the opportunity and the confidence to curl in any league. With this in mind, we are implementing a Spare Special, allowing our L2C participants and our Single league curlers the chance to spare 2 times, in any league, between now and March 1st.
 
Spare sheets are available to sign up for each league on the league board.  Once signed up you will receive 2 spare tokens to hand in before you spare in a game.We will be adding this spare list to our website under our members only page for easy access to contact information.  

4) Chuck Phelps 

Tomorrow is the annual Chuck Phelps Spiel, a day where we remember Chuck, a beloved past curler at the Centre, and raise a few dollars for the WCC. Even if you are not curling, come on down for a few sociables and join in on the fun!
